The influence of the long Arab presence in Spain can be perceived in the decoration that the luthier applies, even nowadays, with inlays placed especially around the soundhole. These are generally geometric patterns that constitute the builder's "signature". I execute them myself following original drawings, using veneers of various thicknesses with exclusively natural coloration.

Instruments constructed with the maximum care demand finish of high level and technique: the traditional flake shellac French polishing. Only this time consuming and demanding procedure can give the correct brilliance and "depth" to the wood. The acoustic yield is clearly higher than that obtained from instruments painted with modern varnishes, longer-lasting but too rigid...
